Congratulation Speech
To Celebrate the Founding of Dong-Ying Sino-Australia Economic & Business Cooperation Promotion Association (SAEBCPA)
Distinguished Mr Gao Yi, Deputy Mayor,
Distinguished General Director, Foreign Affairs Office,
Distinguished President Mr Liu Juncheng; Dong-Ying Sino-Australia Economic & Business Cooperation Promotion Association;
Ladies, Gentlemen, friends and colleagues:
I am very honored and privileged to be here and to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Mayor and the City of Swan, to express our heart-felt congratulation on the founding of Dong-Ying Sino-Australia Economic & Business Cooperation Promotion Association (SAEBCPA).
Australia and China are both part of Asia and the Pacific regions and have been building and forming a very strong relationship. Right now we are enjoying an extended “honey-moon” period, especially in cooperation in the mining and energy fields. In terms of volume and scale, China has passed Japan and is now Australia’s No 1 partner in investment and trading.
Known as the “Oil Capital” of China, Dong-Ying has achieved fast rate of economic development and is ranked top in petroleum equipment manufacturing, processing and related petro-chemical fields. Now with China’s national strategy for the development of the Yellow River Delta, Dong-Ying city, located at the mouth of the Yellow River, has been making remarkable headway such fields as the scientific research on environment protection, marine studies, auto and auto parts production, process and services fields.
Therefore I believe that our new Association (SAEBCPA) will work as a “Cooperation Platform” to coordinate and service the cooperation between the companies of Dong-Ying City and the City of Swan and Western Australia in a variety of fields and ways in the future.
On this very important occasion, I would like to express my congratulation again to the association, my gratitude to the people of Dong-Ying City for their support, and I would like also to extend invitation to our friends and business partners from Dong Ying City to visit the City of Swan and Western Australia and to be our guests. The cooperation I believe will result in a “double win” for both cities and extend the growing relationship between our two countries.
Thank you very much and see you in Australia very soon!
